Today is former South African President, Nelson Mandela’s 95th birthday. The civil rights revolutionary is spending his birthday in a hospital due to a recurring lung infection that he’s been battling for over a month now according to BBC News. Mandela, who played a crucial role in the end of apartheid in South Africa and went on to become the first black president there in 1994, is a revered symbol of grace, love and humility. According to his daughter, he’s recovering remarkably as reported in an interview with the South African Press Association.
You truly dedicated your life to serving and protecting humanity. While this world is still tainted with injustices and flat-out ugliness, you’ve made a beautiful contribution to it and changed it for the better.
Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU!
Enjoy your birthday and do reflect on the priceless 95 years of life you’ve been highly favored and blessed with. I know the world is. 😉
