Music | Monday #G33kin’

Entertainment / Music / March 24, 2014

It’s a great week for Monday #G33kin because so much good music was released. Now I can’t bring you everything, but check out what I scouted below. Follow me on twitter (@Dj_G33k) to catch any new hits I find throughout the week.

  1. As it gets warmer outside, the vibe of the music always reflects the change. Calvin Harris has been dishing out some decent “feel-good” bangers. It wasn’t a surprise that he took advantage of the seasons and dropped Summer
  2. [Warning: Explicit] While I am still questioning why this song made the radio, I don’t want to hold you back from knowing that the Instagram slogan has made its way to the Rico Love single, B*tches Be Like. It’s like the R&B response to Nicki Minaj’s – Lookin’ A** Ni**as
  3. This might be my favorite of the week. As soon as I saw the name of the artists I knew it was going to be something special. THEN I saw the title (hint: obviously a remake of the Elton John & Bernie Taupin classic) and I couldn’t wait to see what was in store. Here it is: Miguel ft. Wale – Benny & the Jets
  4. Allen Stone is currently one of my favorite artist. Granted my favorite song by him is a cover, but overall I love him doing anything acoustic. He recently dropped the official recorded version of his newest single Million, which was pretty good. Here’s the acoustic version:
  5. When Jhene Aiko gained momentum, I figured if she could just keep good song writing, she would last. Her voice definitely draws you in and she proves that again in My Afternoon Dream
  6. Next up are 2 gentlemen who both individually owned the airwaves at some point in their careers. As of late, they’ve been finding their way back and met at this collabo. We #g33kin or naw? R. Kelly ft. Ludacris – Legs Shakin:
  7. Hot off the press, Elle Varner dropped her next tune. It’s definitely jazzy, but don’t be mistaken it’s not a jolly love song. Here’s See Me Tonight from her new album, finally, 4 Letter Word
  8. The wildcard for this week is Nick Cannon. That’s all I can say. Just listen…Pajama Pants ft. Migos, Traphik, & Future:
