Calling all ladies! CALLING ALL LADIES!
The days of trying to find the “perfect fit” in a dress are nearing the end. Thanks to entrepreneur and all-around fashionista, Lisa Sun, women are experiencing a boost in confidence by being fashionably empowered through her company, Project Gravitas. Built on the principles of dignity, importance, depth and substance (the very qualities used to define “gravitas“), the company enables women to shop for the perfect dress for our body types.
To have a company that reflects both the community of women seeking “gravitas” (or as Sun simply puts it, owning our “moment”) and serves a reminder to all of us who have it to project it.
Needless to say, when I received a press release detailing Project Gravita’s upcoming pop-up shopping event here in Philly, I was ready and willing to share with you all!
Check out the release below and consider whether you need to be there to get your hands on a summer dress that’s the “perfect fit”!
On June 5, 2014, Project Gravitas will take Philadelphia by storm and host their first ever public pop-up shopping event at the brand new ICON luxury apartments, at 1616 Walnut Street. Open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., this will be a one-time chance to experience the dresses in person since the line is not sold in stores. All shoppers will be treated to a personalized fitting session with the Project Gravitas team, as well as meet the Founder and CEO, Lisa Sun, and hear the story behind Project Gravitas.
“To have gravitas is to own your moment,” states Project Gravitas CEO and Founder, Lisa Sun. “I wanted to create luxury garments at affordable prices that inspire women of all shapes and sizes. Through impeccable designs and a built-in slimming shapewear secret, we empower through our garments and our community of shared stories, style, and life moments all geared to encourage living with gravitas.”
It’s no surprise that Project Gravitas has chosen Philadelphia as one of their first locations in a series of nationwide pop-ups. CEO Lisa Sun sets her sights on the stylish city for several reasons, one of which being that Philadelphia’s image as a bustling fashion town has grown exponentially over the past decade.
“My career in fashion began at McKinsey & Company, where I frequently traveled to Philadelphia and was able to observe the city’s fashion community evolve and expand,” Sun stated. “I love the personality of Philadelphia’s fashion and entrepreneurial community, and believe that the women of the city will respond well to our collection, as well as our story of empowerment in life, business, and the pursuit of living with gravitas.”
Sun’s Project Gravitas has quickly risen to fashion fame, as seen in publications like Women’s Wear Daily, InStyle, O, Oprah Magazine, People Style Watch, New York Post, Marie Claire, Lucky, Daily Front Row and many more.
Each month, Project Gravitas features an inspiring Woman of Gravitas, and 10% of the purchase price of the woman’s favorite dress goes to her charity of choice. A percentage of each sale from the Philadelphia pop-up will be donated to Dress for Success’ Philadelphia chapter. Shoppers are encouraged to RSVP in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org to 215.627.1082 x 107.
