Forbes Under 30 Summit Music Fest | WIN YOUR TIX!

Breaking / Carousel / Entrepreneurship / Giveaways & Contest / SS Calendar / October 16, 2014

Skai Blue Media recently shared this awesome opportunity for YOU to potentially be a part of the first ever Forbes Under 20 Summit coming to Philadelphia October 19th-22nd.  The summit will bring together 1,000 of America’s most innovative entrepreneurs and thought leaders with business leaders and mentors. What is Forbes’ mission?

“The Summit will include panel discussions, keynote presentations, parties and “Shark Tank”-style pitches in front of the world’s top venture capitalists. Forbes will also host an exclusive music festival featuring top ‘30 Under 30 bands’ and a food festival with top ‘30 Under 30’ chefs. The goal: to create partnerships that will change the world over the next 50 years.”

I will most definitely be on the scene and I hope you will too!

Here are the deets:

If you’re a local music fan and/or activist, age 21 and older, here’s your chance to win free tickets to the Forbes’ Under 30 Music Festival, featuring DJ Afrojack, Wiz Khalifa (hip-hop), LP (indie rock) and Philly’s own hip-hop duo OCD: Moosh and Twist, happening Sunday, October 19 at the Piazza at Schmidt’s here in Philadelphia.

Through midnight ET on Thursday, October 16, visit and complete one of four easy online actions to help end extreme poverty:

  • Tweet at Senator Patrick Leahy, Senator Lindsey Graham, Congresswoman Kay Granger and Congresswoman Nita Lowey and thank them for working to ensure every child across the world has access to protection from diseases.
  • Sign the petition to support the Water for the World Act — legislation that refines and improves the current Senator Paul Simon Water for the Poor Act that makes safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene a U.S. foreign policy priority. The Water for the World Act would better utilize the existing funds and strengthen accountability for existing programs.
  • Sign the petition encouraging world leaders to help end the Ebola epidemic.
  • Tweet a selfie with the hashtag #showyourself, joining the petition that shows world leaders that the rights and needs of the 1.8 billion young people across the globe must be a priority.

under30_20142Once you’ve completed one of the aforementioned actions, you earn four points on the Global Citizen web site and become eligible to enter the lottery for tickets. Winners will be chosen at random and notified via email. More than 2,500 pairs of free tickets are set to be distributed to the public leading up to the festival, which is presented by Global Citizen Nights.

“We’re excited to have this unique musical festival serve as the kick off of the Forbes Under 30 Summit,” said Mayor Michael A. Nutter. “The Forbes Under 30 Summit is bringing some of the best and brightest young minds to Philadelphia, and this partnership with Global Citizen gives the members of this influential generation the chance to get involved and combat extreme poverty. With Philadelphia’s growing millenial population, there is no better place to host these types of events and harness the power of young people.”

Please Note:

Doors will open at 3:30 pm for the music festival.  The concert is expected to run from approximately 5pm-9pm. This event is rain or shine. Attendees must be 21 and over (valid photo ID required for entry).
