Earlier this year Sincerely Chosen: The Live Interview Series was an idea that I just “couldn’t seem to shake”. In a matter of months, it has now become a monthly production and expanding branded platform. This month marks our sixth show and I have to be honest, it’s blowing my mind a little to see how much it has evolved. This is all thanks, of course, to faith, the executive team, production crew, restaurants, interviewees, artists, sponsors, and–most importantly–the phenomenal AUDIENCE.
In addition to the usual sounds provided by DJ G33k, the featured (and absolutely delicious!) Relish 3-course Thursday dinner special, networking and our taped live interview, audience members will also enjoy our first ever, open-mic style performance set. If you’ve been keeping up with the SS social media accounts (and if that isn’t the case we should probably fix that, btw–like definitely, haha!), then you may have spotted an invitation for vocal artists to submit their work for potential selection. The e-mails came rolling in and I must say, we’re excited to welcome some great talent to the stage!
To top off the live talk show experience, 25% of final ticket sales will be donated to The Hive, Philadelphia’s first co-working space dedicated to ambitious women, which officially launched on November 7th, 2014. Created by Melissa Alam, one of the evening’s featured interviewees, the 900-square-foot space in Old City aims to “inspire collaboration, personal and professional development, mentorship, and empowerment here in the city of sisterly love.” The space is set to also serve as a venue for “monthly networking events and workshops held by members and local professionals.”
** This month’s Sincerely Chosen show promises to be one to remember and your presence is hereby requested. 😉 **

On September 19th, 2014, Melissa Alam and Alexander Kacala partnered to create a digital campaign, #30Under30PHL, in anticipation of the Forbes Under 30 Summit happening in Philly. Through Alam’s online magazine and brand, FemmeAndFortune.com, 30 “phenomenal” and “inspiring” women were featured in 30 days via nominations from the public. The campaign culminated in the “#30Under30PHL Party“, a celebration to honor and toast to the success of the 30 women profiled.
While I had the opportunity to meet Melissa during the planning of the 2nd Annual Women in Media Conference (presented by WIM Philly), it was through #30Under30PHL that I really came to learn more about her and to meet Alex (Can I just say that he’s a great “connector”? Watch him work a room and connect people; there’s this art to his style.). These two trailblazing spirits inspired the entrepreneur, the journalist, the woman, the free and bold spirit in me and others too. My hope is that just maybe, they’ll do the same for you. Who knows? 😉
