PHILADELPHIA, May 27, 2015 — On Wednesday, May 20, Sierra Ryant, a senior at Delaware Valley Charter High School, was awarded over $1400.00 towards her college education thanks to a new local talk show experience, Sincerely Chosen: The Live Interview Series.  The act of charity was spearheaded by Sincerely Syreeta, a Philadelphia media personality and the talk show host.

The sold out show, which takes place at Relish restaurant the third Wednesday of every month, was held in honor of Mother’s Day and featured local mothers who have all taken different paths through raising a family, investing in their communities and finding balance.

Sierra thought she was attending the show to recite a poem in honor of her mother Patricia Ryant who passed on April 19th, 2015 from metastatic breast cancer.  She was unaware of the generosity in store for her.  After she presented her poem, Sincerely Syreeta revealed why she was actually there.

Sincerely Syreeta first became aware of Sierra’s story of perseverance while visiting Miss Mahogany boutique in West Philadelphia. There she met a friend of Patricia’s who had just left her funeral and began telling Sincerely Syreeta about the family’s circumstances. In spite of her mother’s passing, Sierra, 18, and her younger sister,

Kierra, 16, have maintained academic excellence; Sierra with a 4.0 GPA and induction into the National Honor Society. She will start her freshman year of college at Gwynedd Mercy University on a partial academic scholarship in the fall.

Sincerely Syreeta surprised Sierra by donating 50% of ticket sales from the show towards her college education and providing her and her sister with a photo shoot courtesy of Sean Lassiter Photography. Her acts of charity led to additional donations from the Nehemiah Davis Foundation who matched Sincerely Syreeta’s donation and $1,000 in donations from the audience. In addition to the outpour of monetary support, audience and community members also committed to covering the cost of Sierra’s books for her first semester of college, sponsoring a shopping spree (courtesy of a Temple University student in attendance), and a glam session courtesy of Danni J Hair Studio.

“We never expected any of this to happen!” said Sincerely Syreeta.  “I’m a young mother and I don’t have a lot of money, but I do have a platform that I can use for social impact.  What we were able to accomplish as a community reinforces the adage: ‘It takes a village to raise a child. Although we couldn’t honor her mother, we could honor her legacy and hopes for her children—our children.”

Sincerely Chosen: The Live Interview Series was created as a way of highlighting persons of interest and influence on an intimate and entertaining platform that connects them directly with the public. The taped live talk-show experience includes feature interviews, a three-course dinner special for $19.95, BYOB wine, live entertainment and music by DJ G33k, networking and giveaways. Sponsors this month included: Affinity Confections, Remedy Mobile Spa & Wellness, Miss Mahogany Boutique and Tabb Management.

Early bird tickets are now on sale for the one year anniversary of Sincerely Chosen: The Live Interview Series on Wednesday, June 17th.  Visit to purchase tickets.
